Privacy Policy
Bradley Allen Lawyers is committed to maintaining confidentiality and security of personal information. In accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Act), and the National Privacy Principles (NPP) contained in the Act, we provide the following privacy policy.
- We respect the privacy of our clients and the personal information they provide to us, and we are committed to protecting it. The Privacy Act applies to Bradley Allen Lawyers. We do not believe any exemptions apply other than in respect of our employee records (s. 7B(3) Privacy Act).
- We collect personal and sometimes sensitive information about clients when they request us to provide a service, or they submit the information to us for any other reason connected with our business. It may not be possible to provide the client with services if they do not provide the information we require. We may require some information from the client under Australian law, eg GST legislation.
- We will use the information provided to help provide the client with our services; to provide to third parties - including other lawyers, accountants, doctors, witnesses, and government agencies if we think it assists in providing the client with our services or to provide a service or product the client has requested; to keep the client informed of our services and changes in the law that might affect the client; to provide to our own advisers (eg accountants) or service entities; to enforce any agreement we have with the client; and as otherwise permitted by the NPP. We have never and will never sell client details.
- We will only use credit card information for payment processing. We do not store credit card details on our computer system but we may keep receipts on file.
- By engaging our services or providing information to us, we will assume the client has consented to the above uses of personal information. The client may "opt out" of receiving direct marketing information by contacting our Executive Manager on (02) 6274 0969. Unless the client opts out, we will assume the client has consented to the receipt of marketing information.
- Client information may be used to compile demographic data. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify the client.
- You may obtain more information about the way we manage personal information or about obtaining access to personal information by contacting our Office Manager on (02) 6274 0942. If any information we have about the client is incorrect, it will be corrected as soon as the error and correct information have been brought to our attention.
- This website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy principles of other entities. We do not convey any of your personal information when you use a link to another website.
